HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012!!

Assalamualaikum and a Big HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012 to you!!!

My oh my, how the days past us by. And it's already a brand new year today. 2011 had been good, very sweet for us and we're hoping and praying that 2012 has even more goodies in store for us.

How about you? I hope everything went well in 2011. Even if it didn't look too good, like I always tell my friends, someday, sometime from now, you'll be in a better place where you'll be saying the same thing I'm saying today - If the worst didn't happen, I won't be here, enjoying today. So I've learnt that nothing is bad or good, it's how you see it and go through it. So alhamdulillah for Allah's guidance.

Having said that, we've been busy closing the Year 2011 on a sweet note.

We also had our Dessert Class yesterday with Kella Zakaria. Hope you'll be making lots of these, Kella, and who knows where these sweet things might take you... We told you something was going to happen on Wednesday yeah..

Well, we had Karangkraf shooting our pastries for their RASA Magazine ;)). They wanted 15 types of pastries themed Herbs & Spices to be featured for their March 2012 issue. So here are some them  photo that I manage to snap before the food vanished into thin air, ahaksss! We made, among others,  Rustic Chicken Pie, Rustic Apple Pie, Vegetarian Bruschetta, Sausage Rolls, Onion Buns, Ginger Cake, Prune Cake with Caramel Sauce and lots more. If you want the recipes for our pastries, wait for RASA March 2012. You can try them and enjoy them with your families.

*Basic Class : Delicious butter cakes. every baker worth their salt should have good butter cakes recipes up their sleeves.
* Fondant 101 : Learn how to cover your cake with fondant and then style them pretty!

* SPECIAL DESSERT WORKSHOP BY GUEST INSTRUCTOR :
 - Hot Desserts Workshop - learn how to make 4 types of hot pastries and style them on plates like the professionals do.
- Cold Dessert Workshop - learn how to make cold desserts and how to serve them on individual platings.

SKILL BUILDING WORKSHOPS  :
* Food Styling & Food Photography Workshop - our 1st workshop with Pak Uda Ali was a hit! So we will be having another one for those who had missed our 1st workshop. Make sure you don't miss it this time yeah  :)


* Food Blogging for Beginners - you'll learn to set up you own blog using Wordpress platform. Our guest Instructor will help you design your own pretty blogs and how to generate traffic into your blogs. Bakers, beginners or not, you need this tool for marketing your lovely home bakes.

Salam and hi,

It was lovely to finally met up with Sue. Hope she had a great time and would come back to The Dessert Table again.

I have a new team mate who'd joined The Dessert Table since Monday. Welcome on board Miss R. Hope we'll have some awesome time creating desserts and cakes together.

Something is brewing for next week. But I can't let it out yet. Wait till Wednesday and insyaAllah I'll let you in all about it :).

Meantime enjoy this coming holiday weekend. Time to look for those school uniforms and books again!

MasyaAllah, what a great day we had! The workshop was fun and very-very informative and so good!! Just look at my photos today and the ones on the side of this wall..what big difference!!

Now I know more about lighting and how to adjust the camera manual, with actual know-how instead of just guessing :) The hands-on session was really good as everyone get to try taking shots of the desserts from different angles and view.

Hahahaha..it was fun when now and then you hear remarks like 'ooohhh.. that's what viewfinder is' or 'oohhhh...i never knew we could do that....' and many more...lovely..just lovely!!

I hope everyone went back a button wiser than before..LOL!!

Thanks to Pak Uda & his crew, Zalina from Seremban, Azmi from Singapore, Fuziah from Melaka, Linda from Ipoh, Cik Mas, Renu, Sapiyyah, Marlina, Enn, Roza, anak kak Nurul and Rozita (sorry didnt get their names), Aloy, and Hellen from Bali.

For those who had registered and some paid, we will be repeating this Basic Workshop, insyaAllah early next year. We hope to see you @ The Dessert Table, armed with your DSLR, ready to shoot on target LOL!!

THE DESSERT TABLE - Soft Launch @ 10/12/2011

Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, all praise be only to Allahu Subhanahu wata'ala, the All Mighty that only with His Blessings and Mercy, had made this day possible for us.

Finally, THE DESSERT TABLE is HERE!!!!! We are so happy!!!

Last Saturday, 10/12/2011, we had our a small gathering of families and friends to commemorate our Soft Launch of THE DESSERT TABLE :)..

Nothing fancy, just a small majlis as a token of gratitude and to celebrate those who are dear to me, who had been standing behind me, with tremendous love and support, giving me the strength and courage to see this project through. Alhamdulillah.. Thank you all for your love and understanding, for there were times when I was so busy I can't attend to some of your needs, or for the times when I'm just to tired to get up and lend a helping hand when they need me.

A big thank you also goes out to The Dessert Table friends, Mastura of Chomel Cupcakes, Lyza Ghazali of Rollypops, Siti and Phahmy of Tytatreats, Anizah Baharudin of Deliciously Chocolates, Yani of Kitchen Guardian & my  newfound temp-maid, Rowena. Love, hugs & kisses to all of you for making it possible for us to have fun filled day with gorgeous and scrumptious desserts on our beautiful and sweet Dessert Table.
