Brush Embroidery Cake

Salam & Hi,

Last order for the week from Pn Salwa for her dear brother who's getting engaged today..Congrats!

She wanted a stencilled designed cake and I did exactly that, using stencils borrowed from Lyza. But it turned out disastrous! I was horrified!! Not only was the stencil 'leceh' to use coz you have to stick it on the cake and then rub some icing and then take it off after it's dried and then wash the stencil, wipe it dry and redo all the above again, but it looked horrible because of the uneven thickness of icing due to double rubbing coz you just cant control much where the icing starts and ends..anyways! long story short, I recover the cake next morning and did this awesome looking Brush Embroidery instead! Free hand in just under 3 hours! Phewww! Just 1/2 hour before scheduled pick up. I was happy and most importantly Salwa & her twin sister was excited too!

A lot of weddings this week. May the unions be blessed by Allah. One last cake tomorrow and we're done for the week...

I've enjoyed doing all the cakes. Tq Lyza Ghazali for baking and icing them for me. It'll be a regular thing now..LOL! I can't be doing everything girl...

I'm off to bed, have to be up early to finish another one.. looking forward to having some classes next week. Till then, you sweet people take care..

BLACK & GOLD DESSERT TABLE

How have you been? Busy yeah? Well me too, alhamdulillah... :)

A bit of news before that. Sadly, due to some personal issues, Lyza Ghazali has to go back to her own kitchen..boohoohooo... so sad! But hey, we're still tight. We still back each other up, only from different kitchen. Actually, I think that TDT is too small to handle too many cake orders and classes at the same time, so we came up with another arrangement which I think is superb, since we'll still work together... yeay!! We felt like adults.. LOL!!

Anyways, the whole week was filled with class promos and bookings and of course..Dessert Table!

Chef Amer's - Kelas Pembuatan Kek Komersial sold out like hot cakes!! CLASS IS FULL. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANYMORE DEPOSITS. THANKS. If you still do I'll keep it to buy me some nice gumapste tools ..hahahaha...

Mamazieza Hassan's Kelas Meroti - 1 more space available..anyone interested please SMS your name and class name to me ASAP!

And last Saturday, TDT together with an awesome team of Lyza, Siti, Farita came up with a beautiful Gold & Black Themed Dessert Table for a nikah event. Thanks to Sid Haleza for 3 delicious pastries! We'll definitely order again!

The newlyweds were Mohamed Faiq Azim & Maria, congratulations! The event was held in a Masjid in Kelana Jaya..what a cool place to get married. The Wedding Lunch was also held there at noon..nice food!

Anyways, the close families and friends who attended the Akad Nikah were pleasantly surprised when they came for the event. I guess they never expected breakfast would be served in such a stylish do... We loved to hear all the compliments and comments :) Also thumbs-up everywhere :) Alhamdulillah..and of course customers En Asri & Pn Zai, were happy to have such beautiful table for their son and daughter in law... :)

What an awesome way to end the week. Next week 4 engagement cakes & 4 mini cakes will fill up the whole week. All need flowers.... so will be playing with gumpaste next week..

Salam Eidul Fitri to all...

Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim friends!

Hope it's not too late, again! LOL!

We have been swimming in butters and flour and sugary sweet things throughout the mubarakatul month of Ramadhan and now the blessed month of Syawal, alhamdulillah... It was really hard to find time to sit down quietly and blog. Both of us are burnt out, for now... so we declared today an off day for us both so we can catch up on things we have long abandon, like updating this blog, which I should by now have another one under the Dessert Table name, but, that's another story...hahaha.

So now, while munching on some leftover pineapple jam tart (compulsary for raya, don't ask why), which this year we made some for orders & ourselves... we'll do some updates...

Last week, we took an order for 2600 of these lovely heart shape sugar cookies for a grand wedding do. Did I mention we swam in butter and fondant? We did them in 4 days, with a little help from Tina, Mom (before they both left for Sarawak) and Cik Mas, well...here & there..heheh..thanks a million lovelies!! A miscalculation by a few hundreds (we thought everything was covered) had Lyza almost shedding a drop of precious tear..hahahaha... but hey, we are tough Cookies (pun intended y'all) LOL!

We do orders for Wedding/Birthdays Sugar Cookies. Name your numbers and we'll do them pretty for you.

The Bride-to-be requested a simple cake for her Engagement do. So we figure a single Peony on an Ivory Cake will make her happy..and she was :).  Looking forward to do her Wedding Cake, insyaallah.

What can we say? YNWA, right? 

All the above were last weeks orders...phewww.. we survived! But we do need a helper..so hopefully by October we can get one already..

Even in Ramadhan, we were taking loads of Birthday Cakes and Iftar Cakes orders. Favorites were our bestsellers like Chocolate Moist and Red Velvet Cakes... flew out of TDT like mad... thanks dear friends and customers. We appreciate your orders... :-)

We delivered this huge cake to Seremban, which later made it's way to Malacca to a Tahfiz School. I heard the boys were thrilled!

Even Granpas were not left out! LOL!

I was never much of a figurine person till now. Thanks Lyzs for the gentle (uhuk!) push... I never knew who Pororo and friends were till I made these cuties.. and of course Mr Mickey :)

Lyza made this hilarious cake which had numerous thumbs-up! The design started with the couple on a superbike, but hahahah..somehow it ended up with the kids rolling just tyres...on the way back from taraweekh..LOL!

We did these delicious Florentines for Raya

And these cutie Pineapple Tarts..but we didn't take too many orders though, for fear of friends not beraya if these were not delivered on time.. LOL!

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip Cookies..almost the Famous Amos..LOL! Absolutely delicious!

Another best sellers..Chocolate Moist Cakes, flew out of TDT likes no others...

There were other cakes we did, but in the midst of chaos we either forgot to snap them up or we snapped hideous photos using our phones..so we'll leave them out, at least till we do them again..LOL!
